Mike Landry is a well-known photographer and a lifelong resident of Ascension Parish. Family owned and operated, Landry Photography LLC, serves the community and continues to grow and prosper.

Were you born here or did you move here?

I was born at Baton Rouge General Hospital and have lived in Gonzales my entire life.

What are some of your earliest memories of the community?

The feeling of community, a safe place to live, and a great small town.

What do you do for a living?

I own and run Landry Photography LLC, originally Mike's Photography.

What do you do for fun?

First and foremost, I absolutely love being around my grandchildren all the time! I have two grandsons and one granddaughter. I also love to go out to eat. Also, I really hate to say this, being a man, but I love to shop!

What do you like most about living here?

I love the feel of Ascension Parish. I feel safe here and I feel like a part of the process.

What do you think makes this area so special?

Folks really care about one another here in Ascension Parish.

How would you describe this area to someone who has never been here?

A safe place to raise kids and grow old.

Tell us your favorite story about your life.

I have a twin brother, Mark, and as young boys we would love to change our shirts to confuse our teachers (our names were on our shirts). The teacher would call on Mike to answer a question and I would answer wearing Mark's shirt. She would say “Mark I called on Mike not you...”

Tell us something people may not know about you.
My previous answer reveals something that many do not know about me, I have an identical twin and people often confuse one of us for the other, especially when we are out in public.

Describe our community using only 3 words.
Home sweet home.
